It is the rainy season here in Nicaragua and one just never knows when another Tormenta will roll through. I hiked up Volcano Mombacho after taking the coffee farm tour of Cafe La Flores, a beautiful finca on the slopes of the volcano supplementing and benefiting from the rich soils on the slopes of the cloud forest. I hiked to the highest points and captured these images of the views. The first image looks back towards Granada on the shores of Lake Nicaragua and show the Isletas in the foreground. The second image shows the highest point at 1344 meters with the peak of Volcano Concepcion on Ometepe Island in the distance beyond. This week I will capture the views from Volcano Concepcion looking back. Stay tuned!
