Photo Gear Review:
Mountainsmith Trekker FX Monopod

Hurrah – it’s Spring! My bulbs are peeking through and the birds are chirping! Although I’ve enjoyed the long winter nights in front of the fire, I’m more than ready to get outside again.
When I think of Spring, I think of hiking and nature photography. If you’re of a mind with me, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Mountainsmith Trekker FX Monopod. It’s light, sturdy, and reasonably priced; it will help you with your hiking and keep your camera stable for those hard-won wildlife photography shots.
Review: [rating system = 1 to 5 with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor]
• Sport Appeal: [5.0] Sleek, black, and sturdy. It’s easy to use and well designed. It has three height settings to help you along your way and it will securely hold point-and-shoot and even light-weight DSLR cameras.
• Travel Worthiness: [5.0] Yes – absolutely. It will fit well (full length) into your trunk (even my MINI’s trunk) and you can easily collapse it and stow it in your bag or pack. It’s worth taking along for the extra stability – stability for you and for your camera.
• Price: $29.95 (plus shipping)
• Price-to-coolness ratio: [5.0]
