Here’s a very special twist on our yearly travel writing contest. This year, we’re making room for a Hawaii-themed contest and have lined up one big Grand Prize.
Here’s the skinny…
Submit a story between August 1 and September 14, 2012 and you could win a 5-night stay (and fantastic extras) on Hawaii Island at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa (value: $3,282). Each of the 3 best-in-category winners will receive a pair of La Paz Sandals from KEEN Footwear (value $60 – $70).
It’s all pretty straightforward…
- Write a non-fiction travel story that takes place anywhere in the state of Hawaii or is about
Hawaii. Make sure it fits into 1 of the 3 categories: Earth, Sea or Sky - Submit it no later than September 14, 2012 11:59 p.m. PST using this link.
Yup, there are a few more details that you’ll want to read prior to submitting your story, but the goal is for you to turn your island adventures into the chance to win a vacation.
Personally I’ve come to adore Hawaii. As a Seattleite, how could I not be pulled to this sunny destination? And we are delighted to be working with Hawaii Island and to give you the chance to get your creative juices flowing and focused on our 50th state.
So… yup, we’re accepting contest submissions through September 14, 2012 and the winners will be announced in early October, 2012!
