I plan to submit a few of my favorite pieces. Â Do I need to fill out the form agreeing to the terms and conditions more than once?
Each story needs to be submitted separately, so yes, you would need to fill it out each time (but it really only takes a few minutes).
If I win but can’t go on the prize trip, is it transferable?
As much as we’d love to support the generous desire to pass on the prize if you win, unfortunately it is non-transferable. (This is in keeping with the company’s policy who is providing the prize.)
Can I submit either a fiction or non-fiction piece?
It must be a non-fiction travel story. Please see the submission guidelines page to view all the story requirements.
The Hawaii writing contest does not include air. Is this correct? Just checking, since we have a limited budget these days.
I’m sorry, it doesn’t.
I’d love to enter, but I’ve never been to Hawaii. I could write about other travel, but how can it be “about” Hawaii?
Fair question. We wanted to open this up to people who haven’t traveled to Hawaii yet so that’s why we encourage you to write “about” Hawaii. Perhaps you could do some research into the volcanoes on Hawaii island. Or perhaps star gazing. Or how the surfing culture started.
