Probably the hardest items for me to pack for travel are shoes. My mantra is, “Never carry more than two pairs.” The exception is business travel when I may need a pair of gym shoes, a pair of casual or walking shoes and then a third for business meetings.
I can see making another exception for something as lightweight as the Cushe Hellyer Slipper. Sure, they’ll take up space in my luggage but they’ll hardly add weight to my bag. (I swear they are so light that I wouldn’t wake up if you placed these on my sleeping body.) The weight listed on their website is one pound but I don’t think so. My bathroom scale registers less than a half pound for both. Yeah, about four ounces each. I tell ya, these are so light.
The upper is a canvas textile with a breathable canvas lining and the bottom is Cushe’s manuka honeycomb grip (no slipping!).
For packing purposes, it’s quite easy to lay them on top of each other with soles facing out and wrapping a couple of rubber bands around them. Put them into a plastic bag and you can slip these down the side of your carry-on bag.
I’m a size eight and these fit well with thin socks. I haven’t worn them sockless but me thinks they’ll be a good summer shoe – particularly mine which are Moroccan multi, the tropical-themed colors pictured above.
What I Love
- They make for a fun pair of casual shoes on getaways where I don’t need ankle support
- Moroccan multi design is too cute to pass up
- Unbelievably light
- Easy to slip on and off
- Comfy fit
The Cushe Hellyer Slippers come in 13 color options.
Available on Amazon starting at about $40.
Travel Well,
Beth
Disclosure: Cushe sent these shoes to me for review. Regardless, everything I have said in the post reflects my honest opinions.
