Because you can’t get too much of a good thing, here are some more images from the WanderTours Papua New Guinea tour in August.
I love the total tribal nature of this. You know this guy has seen some warfare.
I’m not sure why he insisted on holding up his paintbrush but he was quite proud of it (and, likely, the painting on his face). This man was at the pre-show we attend before the Mt. Hagen Singsing. It gave us a chance to walk around in a pretty intimate environment to photograph the tribal people as they prepared for singing and dancing.
This woman was at the Enga Singsing. We weren’t originally supposed to attend this show but it had been rescheduled for the same weekend we attended the Mt. Hagen Singsing and wasn’t a far drive. A fantastic bonus!
This young boy is from the Mt. Hagen region. You can tell by the knit cap he’s wearing – this is common throughout the area.
I loved the cheeky expression on this gentleman’s face. He looks, I dunno, flirty. But you know he’s holding back some great secret.
These men were lined up in preparation for singing as part of the festival. They look serious but they were indeed having a great time.
Travel Well!
