Yotel - The Ultimate in Space Saving Luxury
Yotel has arrived to London’s Gatwick Airport. What’s a Yotel you ask?
The Yotel cabins are small rooms where waiting air passengers can go get some R&R, Japanese-style. These tiny little rooms include a double bed, bedside tables and a luxury bathroom with shower, hairdryer, heated mirror and soft towels.

There’s also a study desk, free internet access and a flat screen TV with your choice of movies.
Bookings, unlike a no-tell motel, are for blocks of at least 4 hours. That 4 hours will set you back 40 pounds (about $80 U.S.) for the premium and 25 pounds (about $50 U.S) for a standard cabin.
These cabins are fashioned after the tiny capsule hotels made popular in Japan. Meant to save space, imagine sleeping in an area no larger than the first class sleeper area of an overseas flight or a cruise cabin.
I’ve stayed in one of these, I believe in the Seoul airport on my way to Vietnam a few years back. While small, I have to admit that it was pretty darn nice to catch up on some sleep during a 24 hour flight!
Happy Travels!

It’s about frickin’ time. I’ve found it nigh impossible to book the day rooms at the big London airports on stopovers, they’re always full. They need these at Heathrow, too!
Also glad to see this, sorry, what’s 25 Pounds in dollars?
Good point, Pam. I’ve added the U.S. equivalent.
