Women Welcoming Women - Into Their Homes!
Women Welcoming Women Worldwide (5W) is a network of women who open their homes to other women travelers. Its goal is to foster international friendship by enabling women of different countries the opportunity to visit one another.
The idea for 5W bloomed in 1984 when its founder, Dr. Patricia Niedzwicki, observed that her kids had an opportunity to exchange hospitality with other young people around Europe and she wanted to offer the same opportunity to women.
Currently, the non-profit organization, based in the U.K., has 2,500 members from 70 countries. The northernmost member lives within the Arctic Circle in Norway and the southernmost member lives in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
There is no set subscription price to join 5W though there is a suggested donation of 35 British pounds (approximately $67 U.S.). To register, simply submit an online application form. At that time, you will receive a list of all members worldwide and can begin making plans for that long awaited (inexpensive) journey!
Happy Travels!
