I was given the Flip video last year and enjoyed it in the Canadian Rockies. It was given to me at my family birthday party at which my grandson, Adam, took photos of my kids singing a crazy song to me. He didn't know how to use it, so took everyone sideways. When I tried to right them, we all looked fat as pigs. Bummer.

But I was worried about the amount of recording time I'd have while in Tanzania, so bought a neat, tiny Sony for a helluva lot more money. As you said in your piece--and this bears repeating--you'd be amazed at how much you can record in one hour. I am still learning and also realized that I didn't need so many cards or batteries for the Kili climb. Live and learn. So true. Meg
