Getting Over Language Barriers
Many people don’t travel abroad because they think they have to know the language of the country they are traveling to. This just is not the case.
There have been very few times (I can literally count them on one hand, actually make that one finger), when not knowing the language put me in an awkward situation. Unfortunately (in my humble opinion), English is spoken most everywhere - even in the most remote of Vietnamese villages. Therefore being fluent in a language is not necessary. BUT, it certainly bridges gaps and endears you to the locals.
By learning at least a few words of the local language, you’ll show respect to the locals and you’re sure to have fun in the process.
