SteriPEN Journey with LCD | Wanderlust and Lipstick

No, I’m not on the payroll for SteriPEN. But, you’d think the way that I extol the benefits of their travel gadgets that I was!

The Journey is the latest water purifier from these folks. It’s pretty nifty because it has a digital readout that includes a timer, the battery’s status, number of uses and a signal for when the lamp is approaching it’s end.

This version works as well as the others (the Traveler and the Classic). It is, however, slightly larger than the Traveler but by such a small amount that unless you’re really counting ounces and luggage space, it probably won’t make a difference to you.

Gadget geeks might totally like the fact that it includes a digital readout. I didn’t find it necessary for the timer since the bulb goes out after a given amount of time anyway. But, others might really dig this feature.

For those not in the know – the SteriPENs use UV light to kill germs and bacteria in water. I carry it with me on all of my foreign trips so that I can avoid buying bottled water whenever possible.
