Jamu Dreaming by Archie Roach
There are so many really talented artists worldwide who just don’t get the recognition they deserve. Australian Archie Roach is one of them. He was on my radar when I lived in Oz for about 6 months many moons ago. His wife, Ruby, would come to the house I shared with a bunch of musicians and she would sing late into the evening (OK, morning!) the songs written by her husband. On this CD, Archie poignantly sings of both the happy times and terrible tribulations of the Aborigines in Australia. It’s one of my all-time favorite CD’s and has been for more than 15 years.
