Girlfriend getaways seem to be the latest trend in travel. While we’ve been doing women-only tours since 2009, we’ve never actually called them girlfriend getaways. But it’s clear that many consider them as such as we’ve had mother/daughters join us as well as sisters and friends.
Traveling together gives these gals the chance to bond over new experiences in an environment where they don’t have to make the decisions or arrangements (preventing, I’m sure, more than one tense moment!).
Having traveled to Australia and Mexico with my own “mum,” I know how bonding the experience can be. And on our trips, I see how close these women become. But I also see how they interact with others – making new friendships and sharing their life experiences with the group. It’s a win-win for everyone when you’ve got people who already share a close relationship but are willing to open up to others. It makes everyone close.
Though many of the women who join our women-only tours are solo, meaning they don’t know anyone else on the tour, increasingly I’ve seen two, three, and even four join who do know each other in advance. Having seen how much closer family and friends can become when they take a trip together, I thought it would be great to encourage more of this.
So… if you book any of our international group tours with one or more friends or family members on or before May 15, 2013, you’ll each save 5% on the land portion of your trip.
Both participants must book by that date and this only applies to new bookings. Does not apply for tours booked through a travel agent. Participants do not have to room together in order for the discount to apply.
Note that our Papua New Guinea tour is co-ed and the offer includes that tour. So if a husband and wife want to join? Or two brothers? Fantastic. Welcome aboard!
Give a thought to who might make a good travel companion and let’s get you traveling soon :-).
Travel Well,
Beth
