Walking down Khao San Road in Bangkok is an experience, to say the least. Nightlife that never ends… transvestites at every turn… drug deals happening in the light of day… illegally reproduced CD’s and DVD’s for sale… vendor upon vendor lining every square inch of sidewalk.
I couldn’t help but smile when I saw this super happy mannequin in front of one of the many storefronts. I love how the smiling gal is in such contrast to her friend – looking all serious.

I love Bangkok, it is one of my favourite cities in the whole world, although I have to admit that I’ve never visited Khao San Rd. Perhaps I’ll have to make the trip next time to visit the mannequins!

I have never visited Khao San road either!! And I came from Bangkok. ๐ I guess when I lived there I always thought one of these days but never really made it there. Maybe next trip when I go back to visit my family.

Now that is a face that you don’t see on a mannequin every day! I love the brilliant colors!

I love it! Great photo! I’m excited to be spending “one night in Bangkok” for a layover next month…but it won’t be enough!

Love this photo! I thought the girl with pink hair was real at first. What fun!

That mannequin in the middle with the glasses, they always make me laugh because they look like they’re laughing at you. This is a busy looking shop.

I LOVE that shot!

Priceless shot. So many things that vivacious redhead (well, pinkhead really) could be thinking!

I posted a little while ago about mannequins in Guatemala city. They looked like sex doll rejects with open mouths and eyes like a drugged out person. They were actually bought by a kids store. WE were scared!

I can only imagine what her voice would sound like if she were for real. We need a bubble contest for so we can all fill in what phrase we think she’s saying. Classic photo, one that makes this weekly Photo Friday round so much fun.

Sort of a Cyndi Lauper vibe going on here ๐
