Hot Travel Tip - Programming Phone Number3
I’m pretty detailed oriented. Annoyingly so sometimes
One thing that I’ve learned in my travels is to program phone numbers into my phone prior to departing. I recently purchased a smartphone that I now love to travel with because I can quickly check my email without firing up my laptop and I can keep all sorts of tasks, messages to myself and all of my contact info in one place.

I love the large screen on the Cingular 8525

The keyboard slides out for easier text messaging
A few phone numbers that you should consider programming in your phone before that next business trip, cross-country trip or out-of-country adventure (if you’re phone is equipped with GSM) are:
1. Hotels - you can call for directions when you get lost or let them know if you’re running late and need them to hold your reservation.
2. Restaurants - if you’re a foodie and there are restaurants that you must visit while you’re on the road, plug in a few numbers so that you can call for last minute reservations. Even if you’re traveling solo, don’t hesitate to make a reservation (make it for two if that makes you feel more comfortable and then just explain that your dining partner couldn’t make it).
3. Credit Card Companies - if you’re traveling abroad, remember that you can’t call your credit card company using their toll free number. Be sure to program their non-toll-free number. They’ll even accept collect calls if you use a public telephone or a landline.
4. Bank - same goes with your bank. You may need to call for your balance or inquire about an issue with your debit card which can easily be used at ATMs around the globe.
Happy Travels!

I travel a TON and find that you should also program your airline flight info and airline contact numbers as well as inserting a scan of your passport and other documents can be very helpful in difficult international travel situations.
