As a cycling-obsessed lady, I ride to work every day (even on rainy ones). But just because I’m cycling through rain and rugged roads, I do not believe I have look like it. With that in mind, I’m offering up my favorite commuter clothes, designed with the chic in mind.
Trendy Tops
Moxie Cycling Merino Wool Reversible Jacket
They call this a jacket, but it is really just the perfect sweater. It’s made of lightweight merino wool which is soft while still keeping all the great qualities of wool — like controlling body temperature and odor. I love it because it is reversible! I adore the charcoal/coral which is happy and sleek at the same time. It’s a crop-top, to easily wear over pants or skirts, and has a hidden cuff pocket and adorable thumbholes. Yum!
Nau Repose Dress
Finally! A sustainable, washable, wrinkle-resistant, quick-dry, odor-resistant, silky-soft, and sexy, dress. It’s what I’ve been looking for. I’m such a cheerleader for this dress (in the eye-catching Fjord) because it is the perfect dress for the office, and around town. I can easily pack it, easily slip it on, and easily head wherever I’m going without worrying about packing a change of clothes. If it was water-resistant as well, I’d never take it off!
Best Bottoms
Arc’teryx A2B Commuter Pant (Women’s)
These pants are designed for a denim look that performs the way cyclist needs. Both water repellant and quick dry, this sleek style is deliciously decadent. I love the built-in articulation, sumptuous, yet subtle reflective detailing, and cleverly adjustable pant cuffs. These pants I wouldn’t be embarrassed to be caught in off my bike! Check it out.
Sweet Spot Skirts — Summer Breeze
I adore these skirts! They are convertible, sassy, and perfect cover-ups for cycling shorts — so I can say goodbye to diaper butt! Many of their patterns are a little too much for my rather boring style sensibilities, but that’s why I love the Summer Breeze, which is cute and comfortable.
Ogle-Worthy Outerwear
Arc’teryx A2B Commuter Jacket (Women’s)
Okay, I’ll admit it: I am crazy about Arc’teryx. But I can’t help it… theirstuff is so well made and stylish. This jacket in the pop-worthy Koi is high on my list of treats for myself in the near future. Having one of their alpine style wind- and water-repellant jackets, I know just how bombproof their styles are. It’s the uber-cool, endlessly-high mock neck, asymmetrical zipper, and streamlined back pocket that make this my top pick. They’ve thought every moment through.
So now that you know how I ride in style, let me know what your picks are in the comments below!
