This is Mark, the bass player from my band, Experimental Aircraft. After a three year break from live shows, we rehearsed for two SXSW gigs.
And…this is TJ, my fellow guitar player and vocalist in Experimental Aircraft.
My friend, Edmo. An amazing artist and an avid Experimental Aircraft fan. He’s got his own version of the SXSW badge. 😉
Dream Boat’s Page and Dan came out to support Experimental Aircraft. We played a kickoff party on Tuesday, March 12th.
Somehow we squeezed in an early evening meal at Sway. This photo was shot with cross process film. I had the camera on bulb setting and left the shutter open for about 8 seconds.
Then it was time for the second show, the actual SXSW gig. We performed as part of the Graveface Records showcase, Saturday, March 16th.
I was happy to see so many friends! This is Bryce and Natalie.

I turned my attention to the surrounding madness on Sixth Street.
And the trash. So. Much. Trash.
I’m not sure if you can tell, but I’m actually in this photograph. It’s pretty much how I feel at the end of the festival each year. I took a long exposure of traffic and then had Carlos shoot a photo of me. It’s really just my eyes, but woah! With film, this was not a guaranteed shot.
