WanderFood Wednesday: Indian Thali Plate

Rarely can you find such a beautiful plate of food outside of India. But find I did.
This is a thali plate from the Udupi Palace in Bellevue, WA. On the weekends, they have a buffet to die for. I’m not quite sure why I don’t visit this place more often – something about having to cross the 520 Bridge to get there. Somehow, flying to India sounds so much easier and better!

YUM!! this looks fantastic!. now i am hungry…
Fab picture. I completely fell in love with thalis in Kerala – they are so delicious and make the best lunches imaginable. I will have to come to WA to check this place out! Thanks for the heads up.
That looks wonderful! I can remember a similar meal in Old Delhi, which cost 50 pence with free refills AND they had aircon, which was pretty attractive in 40+ degrees farenheit.
We are lucky to live near an area in London called Tooting, which is home to a large number of Indian families and therefore delicious restaurants. They also have great fruit and veg shops where you can buy Alphonso mangoes by the box in season.
I love thalis, if there’s a veggie thali available that’s usually what I’ll order
It made me smile.
This food is a daily affair for us Indians.
I’ll try to participate in WanderFood Wednesday. Is it compulsory to participate every week?
thank you for this opportunity to share our food posts. So many yummy things to learn about!
@Nisha you said it girl!
What a great idea!! Thank you!!
What a great idea! As a food blogger and someone who has lived in Asia and Africa for the past 30 years, I love the idea of a Wanderlust approach to sharing international recipes.
Thank you Beth for that opportunity. It’s wonderful to read what other food lovers have to say. For me, travel without food would be like a soup without salt. Nice maybe, but not flavourful
Very nice idea! Love your information on shoes for traveling. Worked for TWA for 22 years and the best money ever spent was for wonderful shoes.
Officially on your email list now. A website that shares a mutual love of travel, food, other cultures and recipes. Love it!
Wanderfood Wednesdays is the kind of delectable social networking we at http://www.thefridgewhisperer.com love. We can’t wait to share our foodie happenings with other visitors to your website.
Keep up the great work and flavourful posts!
