There’s a new, very portable tool on the market called the PocketMonkey. With an ability to perform a multitude of tasks, the PocketMonkey is a flat piece of metal that is small enough to fit inside your wallet. Given its small package, its usefulness can come in handy in many daily situations. Although not an exhaustive list, the PocketMonkey can be used as:
- A bottle opener
- A flathead screwdriver
- A Phillips screwdriver
- Phone kickstand
- Ruler
- Orange Peeler
From the plethora of tasks the PocketMonkey can perform, I will cite the results from some of its main functions.
Bottle Opener
Lets be honest. The need for a bottle opener at a social event is very important. Some people take pride in their hulk-like strength to twist open a non-twist bottle cap or show off their prowess to remove the bottle cap without using a bottle opener. Well, I don’t come from either camp. I need a bottle opener—I roll that way. The PocketMonkey passed with flying colors. It didn’t even cause any discomfort to my supple, office-working hands.
Flathead Screwdriver
It just so happens that I had two tasks around the house that required a small flathead screwdriver. I do have tools, but I decided to use the PocketMonkey to tighten these screws. The first screw was on a light switch panel. The PocketMonkey performed very well. It absolutely met my expectations. The second screw was on a battery pack. Without issue, the PocketMonkey made taking out the tiny screw simple.
Orange Peeler
There’s no denying that an orange is a terrific snack. With the PocketMonkey at the helm, you don’t have to resort to MacGyver-like measures to unpeel an orange. With its orange peeler function, you will soon have delicious citrus in your mouth.
Letter Opener
Instead of tearing your mail open like a five-year-old, you now have a letter opener at your fingertips. The PocketMonky posed no problem opening an envelope, so now you can pay that electric bill even faster! (No offense intended to five-year-olds)
Door Latch Slip
Not that I recommend it, but the PocketMonkey can be used to open certain door latches. I attempted many times to open my bathroom door—eventually achieving success, but I feared that I might be causing damage. That said, if you want to use the PocketMonkey as a tool to rescue yourself from captors, then by all means try out this function.
The good:
- Many great functions, namely using it for a bottle opener
- Great way to access oranges
- TSA compliant due to not containing any blades
- Useful screwdriver for small regular and Phillips screws
The bad:
- I had trouble perfecting the cellphone kickstand
The PocketMonkey is available at Amazon.
