Not long ago a fellow traveler told a story about what he called: Sock Plan 2012. This guy bought several pairs of identical socks. This way, when had to get up at oh-dark-thirty for a morning flight, he could reach into the sock drawer and pull out two socks that were guaranteed to match.
Sock Plan is the kind of simplicity you learn when you travel a lot for work and the Eagle Creek Pack It Folder 15 inch serves that simplicity perfectly. Eagle Creek claims the 15 inch Pack It holds seven dress shirts. That’s cool but I’ve never found the need to bring that many shirts on any trip. Rather I use the Pack It form a compact rectangle that holds 2 changes of clothes and some work out gear that will fit in your brief case or backpack.
The Eagle Creek Pack It comes with two hard plastic sheets. One slides into a thin sleeve in the back of the folder providing a stiff base. The second is identical to the first but has folding instructions for your shirts and even operates as guide to folding a crisp dress shirt. Typically, I’ll pack 2 dress shirts, 2 t-shirts, work-out shorts and tank, socks (from the Sock Plan of course) and a pair of jeans for a 3 day, two night trip.
Wrapping it up:
To top off your clothes place the second plastic sheet, the one with the folding instructions, on top of your folded stack of clothes and kneel on it while folding the ends up and in place…and you. are. done.
Available at Amazon for about $25
