South Africa CD cover

Putumayo’s newest collection, South Africa, dropped today, and to celebrate, they are giving away a free trip to the country! The trip includes round-trip airfare and 13-day, 12-night accommodations and takes the winner from the coastline of Durban to Cape Town. Sip wine in the Stellenbosch region and do some serious animal watching at the Addo Elephant  National Park. Click here to enter the sweepstakes! Don’t wait too long to enter—the contest ends June 30.

Before you go, give a listen to the album. There’s lots of  uplifting, light-hearted stuff here—appropriate for the hopeful path that South Africa has taken in recent years. The vocals are the standout on “Mahube” by Oxam—beautiful choral harmonies and a throaty lead singer. You’ll swing right along with the legendary Miriam Makeba on “Orlando.” The Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir closes out the collection on a stirring note with “Ngahlulele.”
