As a kid and throughout college, I visited New York City a handful of times, each time falling more in love with the energy, the people and the food. Still, when I moved there, I had no real idea of what to expect. I met my roommate at the front door and the rest of my adventure tumbled out from there. Three years later, I’m feeling slightly older and even slightly wiser but I’m still filled with the same excitement and anticipation I felt when I landed at JFK.
Before moving to Seattle last week, I had never been to the Pacific Northwest and had only crossed over the Mississippi once. To be honest, I know very little about Seattle. I know that Nirvana, along with countless other bands, got their start here. I know that it is the un-official caffeine capitol of the U.S. And since arriving here, I know that the people are some of the kindest, friendliest people I have ever come across.
With that knowledge and a passion for adventure, bring on the snowshoeing and the waterskiing, the lattes and the rock bands because I’m ready to dive in and start learning what makes Seattle and the Northwest tick. Stay tuned for a totally unbiased, first-time encounter with this corner of the world. Recommendations and warnings welcomed and accepted!
