Final Prep Before We Roll Out…

June 17th, 2008

In the remaining few days before we roll out on our adventure, we’re finally in the last stages of prep shaking out as many bugs as possible. Since our renters moved into our house last Sunday – rendering us officially ‘homeless’ – we’re fortunate enough to be staying at David’s sister’s house (sister, brother-in-law and their three wonderful boy) this week. They’ve graciously let us clutter up, I mean camp in their driveway until Friday. We’ve been calling ourselves the Griswolds.

This is David’s last week of work and we are counting down the hours. On Friday, he only has a half day (until 11am) and I will be anxiously awaiting his arrival, ready to hook up to the truck and take off. We WILL be on the road by 11:30! In the meantime, there has been lots of last minute futzing, packing, storing, and repacking going on. There isn’t much storage in the trailer, so we’ve been getting very creative on where we put things, for now, knowing this will change a bunch more times before we figure out what works best. The supply lists have also been checked several times to make sure we’ve got what we need for at least the next few months. And, we are fully aware that there will still be things we forgot, and things will happen that we can’t prepare for or even begin to predict while on the road. Nonetheless, we’re as ready to go as we can be.

So, next posting will come from BC, when & where the real action will be happening. Stay tuned…

Until then,

Rocks & Roll!
