I don’t watch Nascar. Honestly, it’s just not my thing. That being said, I respect the hard work and talent it takes to compete at this level. When I heard about Danica Patrick, my ears perked up and I couldn’t help but want to share about this incredible female athlete and her recent accomplishment.
Danica Patrick is the first woman ever to win the Sprint Cup Pole, winning a chance to compete in the Daytona 500 race. This is a major achievement for females in the sport of race car driving. The closest to Danica in terms of setting this goal was Janet Gunthrie ranking ninth back in 1977.
I know very little about the world of NASCAR and racing cars, but I do recognize how much this means to females in this sport. I wish her luck in the Daytona 500 and look forward to the day when I can write that she won that race as well. It’s only a matter of time. 🙂
