I am voting for picture #2 because it brings back memories of my chilhood when all six of us kids would pile in to the space in the back to go visit grandparents. Hated it then, but can remember the laughs to this day.
#2 “Walking the streets of Vancouver” has my vote!
I love this picture it reminds me of when I was a little girl working on old cars with my dad. And then we would go test drive them.

voting for photo #3 – Almost Paradise! Want to be there!!
#7 is beautiful and stirring in several ways. I love the contrast of the man-made colors with the surroundings and camel. great.
#7 is just the greatest mix of color, mood and character. And proof that camels never smile. Takes the cake for me.

#7 “Ship on the dessert” Gorgeous contrasts on so many levels. Simply gorgeous
It’s a toss up between #1 – stunning shot, #4 – I love the wrinkly faces of older people as they say so much, #6 – clever idea framing the shot in this way. Well done to all!
#7 “Ship of the Desert” is stunning! Not your typical beach shot, that’s for sure.
#7 I love the woman on the camel with the contrast of the desert and the water.

I vote for #2 Walking the Streets of Vancouver
#10; Reminds me of home!
I’m voting for Lauren’s picture #7 because it captures a certain
existential distance experienced by the guides. The guide is looking away from the camera and into the landscape. He looks tired and almost bored as he leans on the camel in his bright clothing meant to create an atmosphere of exoticism for the coming tourists.
#10 “Desert Guides” by Lauren Van Mullem gets my vote!
I pick #7. Having been to Mombasa (and perhaps even had a ride on that very same camel!), the photograph truly captures the essence of the location.
#7 Cool photo!
#7 the sand ,water, colors…..........all mix so well
Voting for #7 Ship of the Desert, love it!!
I am voting for #10 “Desert Guides” by Lauren Van Mullem. I love the rich colors—not washed out like some of the others—and composition of this photo. Looks like a photo one would see in a magazine. I also like that the subjects are not posed or with props, giving the photo a more intimate feeling. Beautiful!
I am voting for #10 “Desert Guides” by Lauren Van Mullem,
taken in Rajasthan, India
What a fantastic image. The color is beautiful, the composition is marvelous. Even better is the story! Two little girls in their saris looking over at the little boy leaning on and looking over his camel. As the commercial goes – plane tickets $1500, camera $300, Photo Absolutely PRICELESS! Great capture!
#10 the composure is beautiful & captures a scene few of us will ever see in our lifetime!
photo #3 “Almost Paradise” by Victoria Schilke
No. 10 for me! I have ridden a camel in the Sahara…not a pretty site, but the desert was.
#10, Desert Guides. Beautiful colors, great subject
#10—Several “moods” within one photo: the camel’s expression, looking right at the camera; the person resting on the camel; the people in the background; the deserted sand in the distance. Makes it feel like the viewer is really there.
#10 overall composition. Photo tells a story, too, and I wish I had the camel’s necklace LOL.
#7 great
#10 Desert Guides has beautiful colors, curious and cute camel, and captures the young but shy girls who may want to flirt with the boy but can’t. It captures a way of life. I could write a story on this photo.
I love #10… looks like the photographer just wandered up and “found” the picture
I’m voting for #10, Desert Guides. The richness of the oranges and the dry reds stand out strong and make an excellent contrast against the standing women and the soft sand.
#10 is wonderful! So many captions….so little time!
#10; “Desert Guides” – A male kid trying to talk to two women who do not seem interested, not even their rear-facing camel cares
#10 Desert Guides has my vote. Sweet children, exotic camels, beautiful colors and composition captures the moment!

Props to all the photographers, but I’m voting for #12. Ms. McNulty introduces the composition and subject matter framing of oil painting into the photography medium, and the copper hue and wavy texture of the sand generate a really moving effect on the viewer.
#7-Colors are both vibrant and serene at the same time! Amazing contrast!

#12. What a cool photo! So interesting!
I find #12 fascinating. Love the Bedouin walking on the edge between sky and desert and the play of shade and light, the humour of the title. Great composition. It tells a story of frightening beauty, of hardiness and determination. The journey is long and treacherous, but he keeps on walking. Could be a top one for Johnnie Walker! Or maybe not … too bad these people don’t booze
)

Pitching my vote for #10 “Desert Guides”
#10 “Desert Guides” by Lauren Van Mullem – I love the expression on the camel’s face! While it looks straight at us, dressed up in beautifully colored garments (and even a necklace), it engages us in a silent conversation while the boy looks away.
