In honor of the French people who are currently sharing the same condo as me (my boyfriend’s mother and grandmother), here is a picture I took in France a few years back. And, no, I didn’t know French back then, either! Do not ask me what happened to all those As I got during 3 years of French study!

High atop the 130 meter-high hill of Montmartre sits the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur. I was here with my two sisters, and we climbed up the hill and warmed up in the church. I loved all the artists in the square, surrounded by trendy restaurants. Many artists had studios or worked around the community of Montmartre back in the day, such as Salvador Dalí, Modigliani, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh.

As I sit here blogging in a little coffee shop in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, I can’t help but be inspired by these artists, and my travels, and my family (both immediate and extended).

C’est la vie, et la vie est grande!

Adventure on,

Kristen

The photo is nice, but it [almost] becomes secondary to the lovely piece you wrote to accompany it. You ARE an artist! Sometimes it is with your photography and other times it is the words. This month’s installment gives us both.

I hope you never stop being inspired. Please, oh please, don’t stop sharing with all of us as those inspiriations and travel pictures accumulate.
