As winter drags on and massive snow storms blanket much of the country I thought it would be relaxing to see a little bit of tropical paradise. These photos were taken in Hawaii on my last trip to the islands. Two shots were taken at the Observatory on The Big Island, the other two were taken on the island of Oahu. Enjoy a little paradise. This is a photo I took on The Big Island of Hawaii at The Old Kona Airport Beach. To reach the beach you drive on what used to be the actual airport runway. This little treasure is serene and has a small park with picnic tables. You may find locals there enjoying an afternoon off.

Finding good internet access when traveling is essential. On the Big Island of Hawaii I found Island Lava Java where they had WiFi access with a water view and great organic food. What more could a traveler want?

Island Lava Java offers free range chicken, local organic vegetables and freshly baked desserts and pastries. Besides the great food is a good view of the ocean, keeping in mind that there’s a busy road between the restaurant and the water, so at certain times of the day the flow of traffic is a distraction to the peace of the water view. Even with that irritation the great atmosphere, WiFi and excellent organic food kept me coming back again and again during my five night visit.
