In the spirit of island life and my departure to Aruba today I’m posting a cocktail recipe for a local Aruban cocktail. I found this recipe on VisitAruba.com I hope you’ll follow me on my adventure to Aruba.
Dushi Aruba
Ingredients:
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
1 oz. Coconut Cream
1/2 oz. Creme de Banana
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Rum
1/4 oz. Coecoei
Directions:
Mix together Rum, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice and Coconut Cream. Pour in a blender’s glass half of this amount and add Creme de Banana, mix and fill the other half of the mixture and mix again. Pour the Coecoei on top. You can use Red Grenadine as a Coecoei substitute.

I’ve now arrived in Aruba and enjoyed my first island dinner where I was given the opportunity by Herbert Martis the bartender at the Aruba Renaissance Resort and Casino to try this particular Aruban drink. In fact he made two of them for me and helped me find just the right spot for photographs! The Dushi Aruba is sweet, almost dessert like with a combination of pineapple, coconut, rum, Blue Curacao and Coecoei, which is similar to grenadine. I would place it parallel to a Pina Colada with more kick. I enjoyed it and I hope you will too.
