I love to experiment with black and white images.  Stripping away color and focusing attention on light, texture, and contrast is cathartic.  Travel photography easily lends itself to black and white images; simplifying sweeping vistas can bring you closer to the experiences of place, culture, and personality.

Snapshot Challenges:

  • On your next trip:  look for texture and contrast and make more images that will translate well into black and white.

  • Now:  take 1/3 of your photos from a specific trip and change them into black and white.

In joy,

Melinda Eliza
