Thailand – The Year in Numbers

I’ve lived in Thailand for a year….a year!  Here’s a look at how it all adds up.

Number of scorpions seen in the kitchen at 6:30 a.m.:  1

Number of fevers lived through:  5

Number of Thai milk teas consumed: roughly 100

Cha Nom Yen

Number of motorbike accidents:  1

Number of motorbike accidents that were my fault: 0 thankyouverymuch

Number of temples visited:  roughly 50

Number of times I ate frog:  2  (yes, not once, but twice…)

Number of Leos consumed: countless

Number of times I didn’t understand what was going on around me: also countless

Number of sheep farms visited:  1

Numbers of times I’ve been in a Thai home: 2

Number of places I have worked: 6

Number of students I have taught: about 700

Language classroom

Number of Thai holidays: 3

Number of islands visited: 1

Number of motorbike road trips:  1

Roadtrip

Number of incidents with flying cockroaches: 1 (and that was one too many)

Number of visitors:  8 (soon to be 11)

Number of Western holidays spent alone:  3

Number of weddings missed: 8

Number of Chinese movies I’ve been in:  1

Number of times I couldn’t believe I live in Thailand: countless

Number of things I still do not, and probably never will, understand about Thailand and Thai culture:  about 637
