(on being a single mom abroad)
So… as a mom of two, I toooooootally appreciate how hard being a mom can be, and you are a single mom of two – um…major respect – and sharing your expat life with your two daughters. What would you share with other single moms, abroad or not?
It’s no secret that being a single parent stateside is sometimes an insurmountable challenge. Living abroad provides us with a functional, comfortable lifestyle thanks to the financial flexibility that comes with the contract. Discretionary income or free time is the stuff of Disney/Pixar movies for solo parents…but abroad, we dont have to be burdened with mortgages or utility bills and are afforded luxuries like a maid/nanny who supports the family so that I can actually focus on…parenting and growing professionally in my career while my children receive top notch educations from some of the world’s most competitive international schools.
Overall, it’s a good, good life.
