Sosh, a free service that curates activities and events, is the ultimate tool for planning a trip to Seattle. Users simply access Sosh through the website or a beautifully designed app. A profiling experience asks users to select neighborhoods and activities that they are interested in. Concerts, restaurants, hikes and even cheap dates are added to the home screen in a Pinterest-esque view. According to CEO Rishi Mandal, data from social media sites is used to identify hot new activities while the user experience is honed by the activities the user clicks and bookmarks.
While profiling and predictive intelligence powers the app, it’s the human-driven reviews and Sosh tips for each activity that make the service so helpful. For example, the Blanca Lake listing shares that huckleberry bushes can be found on the trail for a mid-hike snack and the newly opened Tavern Hall in downtown Bellevue has weekend brunch, an unexpected addition to the menu of pub food.
Locals and visitors to Seattle will both love using Sosh to plan a night out, plan a trip or plan an adventure. Download Sosh from the iTunes store here.
My three favorite activities recommended for Seattle are dining at Bar Sajor in Pioneer Square, viewing the #SocialMedium exhibit at the Frye Art Museum and actually getting outside of Seattle to Shi Shi Beach in the Olympic National Park.
Happy adventures,
