Bhutan Info

Not being the most popular destination on the globe, there’s not a lot of resources in which to find information about Bhutan. As I do research for the trip I’m leading there in April, thought I’d share info about websites and books that I come across.

I discovered that Netflix is a terrible resource for locating documentaries or even movies made in or about Bhutan. Searching for “Bhutan”, gave me “Patton” and other similar sounding results. However, I got closer to my interest when I discovered a blog that talks about Bhutanese films. Bhutan Film Blog has lots of info about movies that take place in Bhutan.

The unfortunate thing is that these don’t seem to be available on Netflix. Whaaaaaa

A search on The Film Connection (which is a really cool film club, by the way) brought up only one film in my Bhutan search, Travellers and Magicians. Wouldn’t you know that it’s a flick that I’ve already seen (but when I watched it I had no idea I’d actually be going to Bhutan).

Anybody have any suggestions for me?
