Happy summer, Wanderluster!
This is usually the time of year when people try to trim down. Apparently I didn’t get the memo because it’s been a couple of months of eating for me. First on the New Orleans Culinary Tour, then Santa Fe and, finally, Seattle. Hey, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!
Our groups did eat our way through these cities and you can get a virtual taste of New Orleans here and Santa Fe here.
JUST ANNOUNCED!
We’ve also JUST posted the 2015 New Orleans and Santa Fe tours. These will sell out ladies so get registered today!
During the summer I don’t like to stray too far from gorgeous Seattle. However, I am headed to California to get trained on the Google Trekker, the 360 degree camera we will likely have on the Snowman Trek in September. In August, I’m headed back to Papua New Guinea for the Mt. Hagen Singsing. Whoo hoo!
What are YOUR travel plans?

**New WanderBloggers**
Gwendolyn Kiste
With parents who married on Halloween, Gwendolyn calls weird her birthright. A lifelong devotee to the horror genre and all things odd, you’ll find her visiting any place that’s fun and unusual. Ghost tours, bizarre museums, and historic (and haunted) landmarks top her list of favorites. When traveling across America, she loves to discover the off-the-beaten-path attractions, which might include a Pez palace or an apparition-friendly B & B. More often than not, her husband and cat go along for the ride, a new-fangled Addams family for the Twitter generation. Follow her at Weird Wanderings.
Katie Barber
Katie is a former corporate restructuring attorney and current digital nomad. She has traveled to more than 25 countries and is presently backpacking across Southern and Eastern Africa with her boyfriend. A yoga enthusiast, she firmly believes that every day should begin with a sun salutation. Follow her on Global Zen.

On the Bookshelf
Hell or High Water: Surviving Tibet’s Tsangpo River by Peter Heller
An elite kayaking team, a writer and a wild river in Tibet. All the makings for an audacious tale. This follows the adventures of extreme kayakers as they take on a stretch of river that’s considered the most challenging of any in the world. For a deeper dive, watch the DVD after you’ve read the book.

Calaita Flamenco Son
I’m such a sucker for guitar music and this, the debut album from Calaita Flamenco Son, doesn’t disappoint. Heavy on the Flamenco, for sure, it also features saxophone and flute, which make for an interesting addition to the hand-clapping and rhythm of traditional Flamenco.

Why We Ride
It’s summertime and maybe you ride or are thinking about riding. This movie, a documentary about the history and culture of motorcycling, will definitely get you in the mood. It certainly made me want to run out to the garage, start up my bike (a BMW 650) and head out for a warm summer ride. Oh, and be sure to watch it to the very end.
WanderGear Review
Sherpa Adventure Gear Kipu Tee
This has become my go-to hiking shirt. Not only does it have cooling technology, moisture-wicking properties and sun protection, it’s well cut with a lovely feminine design. All of which I want/need in a base layer. Read more here…
