Happy Summer, Wanderluster!
Wow, did I do some good eating last month, having just finished up the Seattle Culinary Tour (and before that, Santa Fe). It’s now time to get down to some serious eating of summer fruits and veggies, and to be outside for a healthy dose of exercise and sunshine! What are you doing this summer?
If it includes planning your next trip, consider either our North or South India tours or perhaps Vietnam & Cambodia in March. Maybe even join us in Bhutan! And if you’re interested in either Santa Fe or Seattle for 2014 – likely in June – please let me know as soon as possible as we already have waiting lists for each of those tours.
In website news… did you know we have more than 20 WanderBloggers on our site? Some of their most recent posts are featured in the column to the right. Do check in on them, subscribe to their RSS feeds, and enjoy reading a variety of perspectives on travel!

Burmese Light: Impressions of the Golden Land

In the iPod
Quarter to Six by The Idan Raichel Project
Led by Israeli Idan Raichel, this band (make that, “Project”), is a gathering of both Israeli and other world-music artists. This CD is a bit more mellow than other CDs from The Project, but it’s still beautiful. Maybe even more beautiful simply because of its laid back tone.
In the DVD
Argo with Ben Affleck
Haven’t seen it yet? You should. This is a terrific drama based on the true story of six Americans who are rescued in Iran during the hostage crisis in 1979. It wasn’t until years after the incident that this event was declassified, hence a movie so many years later. (Oooh, I can only imagine the movies that are in the works with the recently “declassified” info.) Argo was worth the wait and deserves the attention it has received.

OluKai Ohana Sandals
These are definitely my 2013 summer go-to “shoes.” With all the warm weather we’ve been having in Seattle, I’m out in them nearly every day. They’re even vegan-friendly. Read more…
