Greetings, Wanderluster!
Spring has sprung! Well, it’s kinda been here in Seattle since late January but everything’s now in full bloom and I’m loving it! Though it’s nice to be home to enjoy it, that won’t be for long. I’m off to Maui this month for a week-long summit with my colleagues from the Expedia Viewfinder blog. Yes, ahem, we’ll be working hard.
What about you, do you have spring travel plans??
If you’re planning farther ahead than that, you should know that I’m finalizing details for a yoga trip to Bhutan next spring and an African safari for early 2017. If you’re interested in either, please drop me an email and let me know. I’ll contact you as soon as details are posted to the WanderTours site.
Don’t forget to stay updated on my whereabouts and experiences by friending me on Facebook and Liking our WaL and WanderTours Facebook pages.

On the Bookshelf
Eat and Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness
by Scott Jurek
This guy’s an ultramarathoner (he runs 100+ miles at a time) AND a vegan. No, I have no plans to run an ultra, but I found a lot of inspiration in this book by someone who forged his own path. I don’t expect you to follow in Scott’s footsteps but I’m hoping you’ll find inspiration, too. We are powerful beyond our imaginations.
In the iPod
An Other Cup – Yusuf (aka Cat Stevens)
Sadly, I didn’t realize Cat Stevens was “back” until I saw him on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame awards last year. I was (and still am) such a fan of his early work that I immediately picked up a copy of this CD. Though there’s a bit more references to God than I would like, I try to look past that and focus on the positive messages that have always been a part of his music. Well worth a listen for anyone remotely interested in his early music.
In the DVD
The Theory of Everything
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this movie so I gave it the 15-minute test and was going to turn it off if I didn’t like it. It turns out I loved it. More inspiration! Wow, that Stephen Hawking. Not only is he just brilliant but he has overcome so many obstacles to make his mark in the world.
WanderGear Review
Vibram Bikila EVO Shoes
I pretty much learned to run in minimalist/barefoot shoes and am a big advocate for this style of running. Vibrams are my go-to shoes for this. So much so that I think you’d have to pay me to stop running in these! Read more here…
