Sunflower in Seattle – Photo of the Day

Sunflower

Could it possibly be that summer has finally arrived? We’re cautiously optimistic here in Seattle – where a record amount of rain has been falling.

But you know what they say, April (and in our case May) showers, bring August flowers. I have sunflowers to look forward to this year!

You got my hopes up! We are headed back from Japan this weekend and I was excited to think my flowers might be up. When we left my tulips were just starting to come out. Hopefully my irises will be up soon so we can all pretend it is almost summer. Not sure I am ready to come back to rain. Thanks for the wishful thinking for all of us!

I visited Seattle for the first time this year. It was March, and I have to say I couldn’t imagine any spring flowers growing there, ever. Must be beautiful when it happens.

Great picture and if you have sunshine, send some to the east coast!

What a gorgeous flower! New York has been as rainy as Seattle this spring — and probably a lot more miserable. It’s nice to see a harbinger of hope.
