Photo of the Day: Summer Solstice

Sunset West Seattle

If you don’t live in Seattle, you probably don’t understand our collective feeling right now because you’re thinking, “What do you expect? You live in SEATTLE!” But the weather has sucked and there is no sign of summer. Yes, we expect this much of the year but we all anticipate warmer weather and more sunny days in June. Last weekend, the weather report for this week was in the 70′s and sunny. Au contraire. It’s been cloudy, rainy and we’re lucky it’s in the 60′s. So, we’re all a bit crabby.

With Summer Solstice around the corner and big celebrations this weekend in Seattle (likely in the rain), I thought I’d pay homage to the sun. Perhaps in hopes of coaxing her out a bit. Call it my private little sun dance.

If you catch the Solstice events this weekend you’ll have to share photos – I’ve heard they can be quite interesting!

I love the corn, and the daisies! How great to take photos on a theme, not an experience, or a a place. Though I guess the set are all intertwined.

Interesting. I’ve at times wondered how we’d do long term in the north west. So beautiful, so adventurous. But the clouds and rain….after a while would they take their toll…..?

Sorry to hear it. It’s usually foggy in San Francisco this time of year but we’ve been having lovely weather. Go figure!

I really do love the daisy shot…I love taking photos from an unusual angle because it makes you look at things in an entirely different way.
