Photo of the Day: Bhutan Video

by Beth Whitman - Wanderluster (January 8th, 2010)

During my most recent trip to Bhutan, I was fortunate to have a pretty talented videographer come along with us. Michael Murphy from Travel On Productions put together a number of wonderful videos. Here’s one of my favorites because it shows off the the spectacular Himalayan range:

Beautiful! I love still images, but there’s something about video that really helps people feel like they’re right there with you.

The video really does make the place come alive. I’m hoping to improve my video (now non-existent) skills this year :)

Spectacular view of the Himalayan range! The Buddhist prayers in the video background has also enhanced the serenity of the scene. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! I would love to go to Bhutan – I’ve heard good things about it and I understand they are developing tourism in a much more responsible way than Nepal. I loved that the video was such a great length – so often they’re too long.

Back in 2002 we attended a wedding in Bhutan, Gill, myself and our two kids, they were 8 and 10 at the time. The ceremony took place 4 days to the East. This experience let the most fantastic bond within the family unit. The kids have been all over Europe in various styles and budgets with us. The trip to Bhutan is one they find difficult to explain to others unless there is a similar connection.
Camp firesides are magical as that is when the tales come out. Gap years start next year, Canada beckons for son who is now 18. Snowboard season in Whistler, rest of summer rigging crew for Festival Republic.
Love Bhutan, dont think we will manage to get back though.
All the best Sean Eatherden
