I took the public bus north from Puerto Vallarta along the one main road to San Francisco (not THAT SF). After hopping off, I walked down a quiet street, heading to the beach, to find this cactus sitting on the porch of someone’s home.
I’m a purple gal and I loved the colors of the house and the contrast with the cactus and flowers.

In Mexico, and in many other countries, they just don’t hold back with colors. I need to start a movement in my California neighborhood to start painting bright, lively colors. The residential zoning boards may not like it, but our spirits would sure get a boost!

I live in Costa Rica, where colors are generally more muted, but bright colors aren’t frowned upon, either. I absolutely love the vibrant colors of Mexico — your photo is the PERFECT example! — and when I buy my own home (eventually), I plan to punch up the color. Bright purples, blues, and greens make me feel so happy. This photo is going in my inspirations folder, so thank you!
