Photo of the Day: Kids of Bhutan

by Beth (June 12th, 2009)

Girls in Bhutan
As part of DeliciousBaby’s Photo Friday, I thought I would add a post featuring the children of Bhutan.

While adults around the world tend to be reserved, it’s the kids that come runnng out into the streets wanting their photos taken. Bhutan is no different. The kids there are charming, sweet and love to look at their photos taken on a digital camera.

Bhutan Boys

These boys at a temple were quite rambunctious and not unfamiliar with hamming it up for the camera.

Bhutan Kids

These children, at the National Museum, were also eager to “chat” with strangers from another land. In fact, they spoke no English and we no Dzongkha, but we had a lovely exchange none-the-less.

Bhutan Boy Monks

Many young boys leave their families in order to join the monkhood and study in monasteries.

Travel Well,

Beth

Love the candid quality of these shots–especially the little girls sharing a secret and a giggle in the first photo.

Great complementary post to your “Faces of Bhutan” post. The innocence and enthusiasm of the children in this post. The wisdom of the elderly in the other post.
