Chuc Mung Nam Moi – Lunar New Year

by Beth Whitman - Wanderluster (January 26th, 2009)

Happy New Year!

Because it’s post-January 20th, it feels more like a New Year than it did just a few weeks ago.

Today is the beginning of Chinese New Year. Tet. The Lunar New Year. Whatever you call it, it’s a new beginning for many people in the world, specifically the Chinese or those cultures with a Chinese influence.

Light a firecracker. Wear new clothes. Burn incense at your altar. Eat some fish. Tell someone (in Vietnamese) Chuc mung nam moi. And look forward to a year of optimism.

Oh, and speaking of things “new”. Watch this space. In the coming days, Wanderlust and Lipstick is going to have a whole new look! I’m SO excited!

Travel Well!
