It started out as a little get together over a pot of coffee and homemade coffee cake in a West Seattle home. Four Seattle travel bloggers talking travel and blogging. It turned into Passports With Purpose, a fundraiser and opportunity to make a difference in the world.
That’s what happened when Michelle Duffy (WanderMom), Debbie Dubrow (DeliciousBaby), Pam Mandel (Nerd’s Eye View) and I got together last month. Debbie mentioned Menu for Hope, the food bloggers fundraiser, now in it’s fifth year, that raised $90,000 in 2007. We all thought, “Why not us?”
We immediately set the wheels in motion and agreed that Heifer International would be the recipient of our efforts. We’ll sell $10 raffle tickets for donated prizes and send that money along to this organization that can then buy chickens, cows and other farm animals to help developing communities around the world.
But, we can’t do it alone. We need you!
Here’s how you can help:
If you’re a travel blogger wanting some link-love
Agree to participate by procuring a raffle prize. Ideal value is $100 but we’re OK with less, as long as it’s relevant to your readers. Help us promote the fundraiser throughout the month of December and we’ll help promote YOU through our participating bloggers page.
If you’re a travel blogger who just wants to promote
Help us and Heifer International by promoting the fundraiser throughout December. You’ll acquire good karma points!
If you’re a publisher, manufacturer or service provider
Donate your product or service as a raffle prize. We already have some amazing prizes that we’re keeping under wraps until the fundraiser launches on December 1. Be an integral part of this effort and get listed on the raffle prize.
If you have a good heart
Buy one or more raffle tickets – they’re only $10 and you’ll have the chance to win a really cool raffle prize!
If you’d love to participate, leave a comment or send me an email: beth at wanderlustandlipstick dot com.
Travel Well!
