Food (for your) Flight!

Last weekend I was in upstate NY for a family reunion. I flew AirTran, a budget airline which is proud of the fact that they cut back on every amenity (even their pretzel bags tout the fact that you’re saving money because they only serve a small handful of pretzels). While it wasn’t the worst of the worst flying experiences I’ve ever had, it was rife with poor customer service and Three Stooges-like information and direction from their gate agents.

Knowing that I was in for a no-meals flight (is Continental the only airline still serving meals on domestic flights?), I flew well prepared. Thought you might enjoy a picture from my homemade Snack-Pack.

Flight Food

Cherries, apples, raisins & nuts and dried fruit in individual Zip-loc bags.

By the way, this food lasted me well beyond the flight. Once in upstate NY, where vegetarian restaurants aren’t very prolific, my food came in handy when I needed a quick bite to eat. I even had some leftover for the flight home a few days later.

Happy Travels!

What a great idea! I have always bought a chocholate or something at the airport, but filling a zip-lock bag with fruit and nuts is a great idea! Thanks.
